In short: The Dog House is a straightforward 20-line slot whose free spins do one thing well: every wild that lands on the middle three reels sticks for the rest of the round, keeping its 2x or 3x multiplier. Spin count is drawn at random, from 9 to 27, before the round starts. It suits players who prefer a classic line slot with one clear feature and no buy option; anyone after constant action will find the base game quiet.

Lines, middle-reel wilds and added multipliers

Pragmatic Play released The Dog House on 9 May 2019. It is a five-reel, three-row slot with 20 fixed lines and default stakes from 0.20 to 240. Wilds appear only on reels 2, 3 and 4. On each spin all wilds on the same reel share a random multiplier of 2x or 3x, and that multiplier applies to every line the wild completes.

When a line runs through more than one wild, their multipliers are added, not multiplied. Wilds of 2x and 3x on one line give 5x, and three 3x wilds give 9x. That keeps base-game wins modest; a full line of wilds is a nice hit, not a jackpot.

The free spins: random length, sticky wilds

The dog house bonus symbol lands only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Three of them pay 5x the total bet and trigger the free spins. A three-by-three grid then spins, each cell showing 1, 2 or 3 spins, and the cells are added together for a total of 9 to 27.

During the round, every wild that lands on reels 2, 3 or 4 stays in place until the round ends, and its multiplier is revealed when it lands and then fixed. Each new sticky wild adds paths for future wins, so a round's best spins tend to come late, once several wilds are locked in.

Two limits shape the feature. Bonus symbols are removed from the reels during free spins, so the round cannot be retriggered, and the random 9 to 27 draw means the length of the round, and with it most of its value, is decided before the first spin. There is no bonus buy and no ante bet.

RTP, volatility and the 6,750x ceiling

The default RTP is 96.51%, and the Ontario-regulated version checked shows the same figure. Casinos can choose lower settings, so check the game's information screen; why the same slot can have different RTP covers why. Pragmatic rates The Dog House medium volatility.

The maximum win is 6,750x the bet. A full screen of sticky 3x wilds on a long round is what gets close to it, which is why the free spins carry almost all of the upside. Ontario stake caps can be lower than the studio default: one regulated casino stops at $100 a spin.

Original or Megaways?

The Dog House Megaways moves the same theme to six reels and up to 117,649 ways, lets the player choose between sticky or raining wilds in free spins, multiplies wild multipliers together instead of adding them, and offers a 100x buy. The original is simpler and slower, with fixed lines and a single sticky-wild round.

In the free demo above, it is worth noting how many spins the three-by-three grid awards and how many sticky wilds are on the reels by the last third of the round.

Questions about The Dog House

When was The Dog House released?

Pragmatic Play released it on 9 May 2019.

How many paylines does The Dog House have?

It has 20 fixed lines on a grid of five reels and three rows.

How do the wild multipliers work?

Wilds land only on reels 2, 3 and 4. All wilds on the same reel share a random 2x or 3x on each spin, and if a line uses more than one wild, their multipliers are added together.

How do the free spins work?

Three bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 pay 5x the bet and trigger free spins. A three-by-three grid of 1 to 3 spins per cell decides the total, from 9 to 27, and every wild on reels 2 to 4 sticks for the round.

What are the RTP and volatility?

The default RTP is 96.51%, and Pragmatic rates the game medium volatility.

What is the maximum win in The Dog House?

6,750x the bet. It has no bonus buy or ante bet.
