In short: Sugar Rush 1000 keeps everything that defines the original, a 7x7 cluster grid whose cells turn into doubling multipliers and a free spins round that never clears them, and simply lets the doubling run much further. Cells now climb to 1,024x and the cap is 25,000x. It suits players who want the original's big-round potential stretched to the limit and accept that the maximum is several times harder to reach.
The same board
Pragmatic Play released Sugar Rush 1000 on 18 March 2024. Clusters of five or more matching sweets touching horizontally or vertically win, explode and are replaced by tumbling symbols. Default stakes run from 0.20 to 240.
A cell is marked the first time a winning symbol explodes there; the second explosion adds 2x and each further one doubles it. The ladder now runs 2x, 4x, 8x and on through 128x, 256x and 512x to 1,024x, which needs eleven explosions in the same cell. Multiplied cells under one cluster are added together, and in the base game they clear when the tumble sequence ends.
Free spins and the Super buy
Three, four, five, six or seven scatters award 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins, and the same counts during the round add the same number of extra spins. Marked cells and multipliers stay in place for the whole round, so later spins play on a board that is already primed.
Two buys are available at casinos that offer them:
- 100x the bet for the standard free spins.
- 500x the bet for Super Free Spins, in which every cell starts the round with a 2x multiplier already in place.
Both land three to seven scatters at random. There is no ante bet. The Super buy's head start matters more than it sounds: every cell skips the first two explosions, so the whole board is two steps closer to the high rungs from the first spin.
Two RTP figures, one for Ontario
Pragmatic's game information quotes 96.00%, half a point below the original. The version in Pragmatic's own demo, and the Ontario-regulated version checked, run at 96.53% instead, with the two buys at 96.52% and 96.44%. In Ontario it is worth checking the information screen before playing, since the difference between those settings is larger than usual; why the same slot can have different RTP explains how one game can carry several.
Ontario stake caps can also be much tighter than the studio's 240: one regulated casino stops at $24 a spin.
Cap, odds and volatility
Wins are capped at 25,000x the bet in the base game and free spins, and a round that reaches the cap ends at once. The in-game rules put the chance of the maximum at about 1 in 12.8 million spins, against about 1 in 2.3 million for the original's 5,000x. Pragmatic rates the game high volatility.
The 1,024x top rung is far more often a ceiling than an outcome. The realistic gain over the original is that cells which reach 128x in a long round can keep doubling instead of stopping there.
Original or 1000?
Sugar Rush stops cells at 128x, caps wins at 5,000x and has a single 100x buy. Players who enjoy its rounds but feel the 128x stop cuts them short have a clear reason to switch; players who value reaching the cap now and then are better served by the original. Sweet Bonanza 1000 and Gates of Olympus 1000 apply the same treatment to Pragmatic's other big tumble games.
In the free demo above, a few rounds bought at each price show how much the 2x head start changes the board by mid-round.
