In short: Bigger Bass Splash is Big Bass Splash with a fourth row, two extra lines and more ways to pay for the feature. The collect-and-retrigger round is unchanged, but an ante option and a 350x buy that starts with every modifier give it more knobs than any earlier Big Bass game. It suits series regulars who want the familiar round on a bigger screen; it offers little that is new to anyone who found the original repetitive.
A taller grid, the same idea
Pragmatic Play and Reel Kingdom released Bigger Bass Splash on 3 February 2025. The grid is five reels by four rows, so 20 symbols are visible instead of 15, and wins pay on 12 lines. Default stakes run from 0.10 to 250.
The base game behaves like its predecessor. When two scatters land without a third, a respin can drop the scatter reels one position while the others spin again, or a hook can pull a reel up to reveal another scatter. Three, four or five scatters award 10, 15 or 20 free spins.
Modifiers, then the collection round
Before the round, zero to five modifiers are drawn at random: more fish, more fishermen, a higher chance of hooks, dynamite and wipeouts, a start at the 2x level, and two extra spins at the start and on every retrigger. In the round every fisherman wild collects the cash values of all fish on screen, with values from 2x up to 5,000x the bet.
The rescues are familiar too. Dynamite drops fish when fishermen land alone, a hook pulls a reel to bring in a fisherman when fish land alone, and a wipeout, which replaces the older bazooka, can swap out every symbol except the fishermen. Every fourth wild adds 10 spins and lifts the collection multiplier to 2x, 3x and finally 10x, after which the round cannot retrigger.
Ante bet and two buy prices
This is where the sequel genuinely differs. An optional ante raises the stake by half and puts more scatters on the reels, which improves the chance of triggering free spins naturally but switches the buy off. Without the ante there are two buys:
- 100x the bet for the standard free spins.
- 350x the bet for Super Free Spins, which start with all modifiers already awarded.
Both buys guarantee three to five scatters on the triggering spin. The RTP is 96.50% in every mode: normal play, ante and both buys. That makes the choice one of budget and patience rather than value, since none of the options is designed to return more over time. Bonus buys are not offered at every casino.
Cap, odds and volatility
The cap is 5,000x the stake, and a round that hits it ends immediately. With the ante on, the cap is expressed as 3,334x the larger stake, which works out to the same money. The in-game rules put the chance of the maximum at about 1 in 1.7 million spins in normal play, nearly twice as often as in Big Bass Splash.
Pragmatic rates the game medium volatility. The default RTP of 96.50% sits a little below Big Bass Splash's 96.71%, and the Ontario-regulated version checked shows the same 96.5%; casinos can choose other settings, as why the same slot can have different RTP explains. Ontario stake caps can be tighter than the studio's 250: one regulated casino stops at $120 a spin.
Bigger, but not different
Against Big Bass Splash, the extra row gives wins and fish more places to land, and the ante and Super buy add options. The fish values, the ladder and the 5,000x cap stay the same. Big Bass Bonanza remains the plainest version of the formula.
In the demo above it is worth comparing a round bought at 350x, with every modifier in place, against a round triggered naturally, to see how much of a round's value is set before the first spin.
