In short: Sugar Rush is a 7x7 cluster slot built around one idea: the grid remembers where wins exploded, and repeat explosions in the same cell turn it into a multiplier that doubles each time. In the base game that memory is wiped after every spin; in free spins it lasts the whole round, which is where nearly all the big results come from. It suits players who like watching a board build up and can wait for the round that makes it pay.
Clusters and tumbles
Pragmatic Play released Sugar Rush on 30 June 2022. Wins are clusters of five or more matching sweets touching horizontally or vertically on a seven-by-seven grid. Winning clusters explode, the symbols above drop into the gaps and new ones fall in, so one spin can chain several wins. Default stakes run from 0.20 to 240, and base-game cluster wins reach up to 150x the bet.
How a cell becomes a multiplier
The first time a winning symbol explodes in a cell, the cell is marked. The second explosion there adds a 2x multiplier, and each further explosion doubles it: 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x, 64x and finally 128x. Reaching the top value takes eight explosions in the same cell.
A multiplier applies to any winning cluster that forms over its cell, and when one cluster covers several multiplied cells, their values are added together rather than multiplied. Two cells at 64x under the same cluster give 128x, not 4,096x.
In the base game, marks and multipliers last only until the tumble sequence ends. A long chain can build a few multiplied cells, but the next spin starts with a clean board.
Free spins keep the board
Three, four, five, six or seven scatters award 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 free spins. During the round, marked cells and their multipliers stay in place from spin to spin and keep growing with every explosion, so a round's later spins play on a board already full of multipliers. Landing three to seven scatters again during the round adds another 10 to 30 spins on the same scale, and a retrigger extends the life of every multiplier already built.
The free spins can also be bought for 100x the bet at casinos that offer it; the buy lands three to seven scatters at random. There is no ante bet. The RTP is 96.50% both in normal play and on the buy.
Cap, odds and volatility
Wins are capped at 5,000x the bet in the base game and free spins, and a round that reaches the cap ends at once. The in-game rules put the chance of reaching it at about 1 in 2.3 million spins. Pragmatic rates Sugar Rush high volatility, which fits a game whose value is concentrated in rounds where the board fills up.
The Ontario-regulated version checked shows the same 96.5% RTP, but casinos can run lower settings, as why the same slot can have different RTP explains. Stake caps can be tighter in Ontario too: one regulated casino stops at $100 a spin.
Sugar Rush or Sugar Rush 1000?
Sugar Rush 1000 lets cell multipliers keep doubling to 1,024x, raises the cap to 25,000x and adds a 500x Super buy that starts every cell at 2x. Its default RTP is quoted lower, at 96.00%. The original's 128x limit and 5,000x cap make its big rounds smaller but much more reachable: about 1 in 2.3 million against 1 in 12.8 million for the 1000's maximum.
