In short: Sweet Bonanza 1000 is the original candy slot with a bigger top end. The grid, the tumbles and the free spins trigger are unchanged; what changes is the bombs, which now reach 1,000x, and a 500x Super buy in which no bomb is worth less than 20x. It suits players who already know Sweet Bonanza and want a longer tail, and who accept that the extra ceiling makes the biggest results rarer still.
The familiar part
Pragmatic Play released Sweet Bonanza 1000 on 3 June 2024 as part of its 1000 series, which also includes Gates of Olympus 1000 and Sugar Rush 1000. The six-by-five grid pays anywhere: eight or more matching fruits or sweets win, the winners vanish and new symbols tumble in until no further win forms. Default stakes run from 0.20 to 240.
Four or more lollipop scatters start 10 free spins, and three or more during the round add five more.
What the 1000 changes
Candy bombs appear only in free spins and take values of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 8x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x or 1,000x. As in the original, they stay on screen until the tumble sequence ends, are then added together, and the total multiplies the sequence's win.
The value list is the interesting detail. It is the original's list with one new top value bolted on: there is nothing between 100x and 1,000x. Most rounds will feel exactly like the original, and the 1000 shows up only on the rare spins when the top bomb lands on a chain that is already paying.
Buy options and the ante
Without the ante, two buys are available where the casino allows them:
- 100x the bet for standard free spins, with four or more scatters guaranteed.
- 500x the bet for Super Free Spins, in which every bomb carries at least 20x.
The ante instead raises the stake by 25%, doubles the chance of triggering free spins naturally and disables both buys. The return barely moves between modes: 96.53% in normal play, 96.50% with the ante, 96.52% on the standard buy and 96.55% on the Super buy. The Super buy changes how a round is spread, not its long-run value.
Ceiling, odds and the volatility rating
Wins are capped at 25,000x the bet in the base game and free spins; with the ante on, the cap is 20,000x the larger stake. The in-game rules put the chance of the maximum at about 1 in 71 million spins, far longer odds than Sugar Rush 1000 or Gates of Olympus 1000.
Pragmatic rates the game medium volatility, the same rating as Gates of Olympus. That sits oddly beside a 1,000x bomb and a 25,000x cap, but it fits the value list: the base game and the ordinary bombs behave like the original, and only the extreme top end is new.
The default RTP of 96.53% is what the Ontario-regulated version checked shows too, though casinos can choose other settings; why the same slot can have different RTP explains how. Ontario stake caps can be much tighter than the studio default of 240: one regulated casino stops at $24 a spin.
Original or 1000?
The original Sweet Bonanza tops out at 100x bombs and a 21,175x maximum. The 1000 raises the bomb ceiling tenfold but the overall cap by less than a fifth, so the extra potential shows up in individual bomb values far more than in the overall ceiling.
In the free demo above, a few bought rounds at each price show the practical difference between a 20x floor on every bomb and the standard spread.
