In short: Divine Fortune is NetEnt's Greek-myth jackpot slot: a 20-line game where wilds slide down the reels and trigger respins, and a coin-collecting bonus can award a Minor, a Major or a progressive Mega jackpot. It sits in the middle of the volatility range, with a 96.59% RTP that is high for a progressive game. The appeal is a jackpot to aim for without giving up a reasonable base game.
Twenty lines and a moving wild
Divine Fortune has five reels, three rows and 20 fixed paylines, and was released on 24 January 2017. The art draws on ancient Greek myth, with gods, monsters and temple treasure on the reels, and Zeus presiding over the free spins. The default stake range is 0.20 to 100 per spin, and there is no bonus buy.
The base game is ordinary line play until a Falling Wild lands. Then the wild substitutes for paying symbols, pays any wins, slides down one position and triggers a respin. A wild that lands on the top row can therefore produce a short run of respins, each a fresh chance at line wins and at the symbols that start the two features.
Wild on Wild
When an Overlay Wild lands on a position already holding a wild, the Wild on Wild feature fills the whole reel. The expanded wild pays, then shifts down one position with each respin, so part of that reel stays wild for a couple more spins. Because it needs a wild already on the grid, it is most likely during a Falling Wild sequence, which is why the respins matter more than they first appear.
Free spins with full-reel wilds
Three free spins scatters award 5 spins, four award 8 and five award 12. During the round, every wild becomes a Wild on Wild and covers its entire reel, so each wild that lands is worth far more than in the base game. If scatters and a wild land together, the wild's respins are played after the free spins finish.
The jackpot game and the progressive Mega
Three or more Bonus symbols in the base game, including during Falling Wild respins, start the Jackpot Bonus Game. Each Bonus symbol carries a coin value of 10x to 200x the bet. In the round, golden coins fill the grid: one full row wins the Minor jackpot, two rows the Major, and all three rows the progressive Mega, which grows until someone wins it.
NetEnt does not publish the Mega's starting value or how it is funded. The 1,000x maximum payout is given without saying how it relates to the Mega, whose value depends on the size of the pool when it drops.
RTP, hit rate and volatility
NetEnt sets the RTP at 96.59% and rates the volatility medium, with a hit frequency of 20%, so about one spin in five returns something. The Ontario version checked carries the same 96.59%, with stakes from $0.40 to $200 rather than the studio's 0.20 to 100. Casinos can choose other settings; why the same slot can have different RTP explains how to check.
That is a high figure for a game with a progressive prize, a type that often runs a lower base RTP to help fund the jackpot.
Megaways and later versions
Divine Fortune Megaways (2020) moves to six reels with up to 117,649 ways, keeps Falling Wilds and Wild on Wild, and lists a 96.09% RTP and a 4,500x maximum payout. A 2026 Divine Fortune Gold edition is built around cash prizes and tiered bonus spins. All are separate games.
Following a Falling Wild
Follow a single wild from where it lands to where it leaves the grid, and count the respins it produces. Note how often Bonus symbols show up during those respins, since that is how most jackpot rounds begin. In the jackpot game itself, watch how quickly the first row fills compared with the second and third.
A jackpot attached to a decent game
The Mega is the headline, and it is a long shot by design. The free spins are short at the three-scatter level, and the 1,000x cap on regular wins is modest. In return, the moving wilds give the base game more life than most jackpot slots, and the RTP gives little away. As a jackpot slot that is still worth playing for its own sake, it holds up well.
