A supplier built on its own games and other studios' games

Relax Gaming was founded in 2010. At the time of its July 2021 sale announcement the company had four main hubs in Malta, Estonia, Sweden and Serbia and roughly 240 staff. It describes itself as a B2B supplier that makes its own casino games and also runs an open platform that distributes other studios' content, alongside proprietary poker and bingo products.

That second role matters for how the brand is read. Relax's own site lists Silver Bullet and Powered By Relax among its partner programmes, aimed at getting other studios' games in front of its operator network. The slots made in-house are a separate, smaller part of the catalogue, and the Money Train series is the most widely recognised of them.

Relax was bought outright on 1 October 2021 by a listed gaming group that already held a minority stake, at an enterprise value of EUR 320 million. The studio has since passed, with that group, to a larger European gaming owner.

Money Cart, sticky cash symbols and the Money Train sequels

Money Train arrived in 2019 as a western-themed slot, and third-party listings describe a five-reel, four-row grid with 40 lines and an August release. Relax later called it a strong hit and one of its highest-earning titles. Its core is the Money Cart round, which starts with three spins and resets the counter every time a new special symbol lands, so the round runs for as long as symbols keep arriving. Money Train 2 followed on 2 September 2020 with a steampunk look instead of the original's Wild West, a 50,000x maximum, a respin feature that starts when two bonus symbols land, and extra reels that open when a reel fills up. Relax says the sequel answered operator and player requests for more engagement in the base game. Further sequels followed with higher published maximums, built on the same structure.

Reading the figures on a Relax slot

Relax's own pages for the series did not give us a confirmed RTP, so we do not quote one. Third-party listings rate Money Train 2 as extreme volatility and the original as high, and published RTPs differ by listing and by setting. In practice that means a base game that spends long stretches doing little and a feature that carries most of the potential. RTP is a long-run average, not a forecast for a short session.

Relax announced on 31 March 2022 that it had received an AGCO supplier licence and would enter the market on 4 April 2022, planning around 130 games at launch, about half from partner studios. It lists licences in Great Britain, Malta, Gibraltar and Romania.
