A London start-up, now majority-owned by an operator group

Push Gaming was started in 2010 by James Marshall and Winston Lee, as a bootstrapped company that at first repurposed land-based casino content for online play. In a trade-press interview Marshall explained why that stalled: without its own platform there were two middlemen taking a share. The studio moved to building its own HTML5 slots, and in January 2020 it bought a gaming technology provider whose Hive platform gave it infrastructure of its own.

The ownership changed in 2023. In May of that year the investment arm of a listed operator group announced a majority stake, and the deal was reported complete by September. The studio said it would stay independent with its own management team and more than 100 staff. Push lists offices in London and Malta, a Malta Gaming Authority supplier licence and a Great Britain Gambling Commission account on its website.

On Ontario, a May 2022 report says Push registered with the AGCO to supply the province's market and expected to announce its first operator partner within months. Its site footer now carries an AGCO logo, and a company post lists titles available to Ontario players.

Nudges, jars and sharks

Push's most-played games lean on one idea each. Jammin' Jars (2018) is an 8x8 cluster slot where five or more touching fruits win, and a jar wild moves around carrying a multiplier that keeps climbing. Razor Shark (2019) puts Mystery Stacks on five reels and four rows that nudge down, with a Razor Reveal that pays instant prizes up to 2,500x.

The Fat series is the studio's other franchise. Fat Rabbit (2018) is a farm slot on a 5x5 grid where the rabbit collects wild carrots in the free games, and Fat Banker (2022) is a 1920s finance theme in which a Fortune Link feature adds a sixth reel and the banker grows during free spins. Push has also described a Push Ways mechanic, where nudging hot zones split symbols and raise the ways count to 262,144.

Reading the numbers

Push games are listed as high volatility across this page. The studio publishes two RTP figures for some titles: Jammin' Jars is listed at 96.83% and 94.25%, and Razor Shark at 96.70% and 94.06%. The higher figure is the headline; the lower one exists because operators can choose a version, which is the subject of why the same slot can have different RTP.

The published maximums are large: Fat Banker is listed at 25,000x and Jammin' Jars at 19,998.5x, while Fat Rabbit is lower at 3,844x. Wins of that size are rare by design, so expect many short sessions with little to show for them. The studio lists feature buys on several of these games, which may not be available in every jurisdiction or operator version.
