Interac at Ontario Online Casinos: How to Deposit and Withdraw, Step by Step

Most Ontario online casinos take Interac by e-Transfer: you approve a Request Money in your banking app to deposit, and payouts come back as an e-Transfer. Here are both flows step by step, plus fees and fixes.

Key takeaways

  • Most Ontario casinos take Interac deposits by e-Transfer Request Money: you approve a request in your banking app, and Gigadat says it expires after 48 hours.
  • Turn on Autodeposit for the email you use at the casino so payouts post without a security answer; Gigadat cancels a transfer after three wrong answers.
  • BET99, Betano, BetMGM, NorthStar and Sports Interaction say they charge no Interac fees as of October 2026; any charge comes from your bank.

If you’ve ever split a dinner bill by e-Transfer, you already know most of how Interac works at an Ontario casino. The difference is the direction. Instead of you sending money to an email address, the casino (or its payment processor) usually sends you a Request Money, and you approve it in your banking app. Payouts come back the other way, as an e-Transfer or as a direct bank payout that some processors call eCashout.

On a phone, a deposit takes a couple of minutes. A withdrawal waits for the casino’s review, then lands on its own if you use Autodeposit, or by email with a security answer if you don’t. As of October 2026, most of the operators below say they charge nothing for Interac, though your bank may.

The Interac options you’ll see in a cashier

“Interac” in a casino cashier can mean four different things. It’s worth knowing which one you’re tapping, because the way you deposit usually decides how you get paid back.

Cashier label What happens Deposit Withdrawal
Interac e-Transfer, Request Money A money request arrives by email or text. You open your bank, check it and pay it. Yes Yes, as an e-Transfer to the email on file
Interac e-Transfer, send to an address The cashier shows an email address and a tracking ID. You send an e-Transfer to it and put the ID in the message field. Yes Yes, as an e-Transfer
“Interac”, “Continue to Interac” or “Interac Online” You are sent to your bank’s sign-in page and approve the payment there. Yes Depends on the casino. At Betano a deposit made this way is paid back by eCashout
eCashout A payout straight to a verified Canadian bank account No Yes

Interac e-Transfer

This is a standard e-Transfer from your bank. Betano calls its version “Request Money (Interac e-Transfer)”. Sports Interaction and BetMGM show a recipient email and a Message or Tracking ID instead. Either way, it’s a normal e-Transfer, so your bank’s usual sending limit applies.

Interac Online and bank-login payments

Interac Online let you pay a website by signing in to your bank, and it looks like it’s on its way out. Kindred Credit Union, an Ontario credit union, says Interac is terminating it and stopped the service on May 28, 2024. Interac’s own site doesn’t give a public retirement date. Meanwhile, Jackpot City’s Ontario page still says “Interac Online”, and bet365’s “Continue to Interac” also sends you to your bank’s sign-in. In practice, the label alone won’t tell you which product is behind the button.

eCashout and direct bank payouts

eCashout only works in one direction: a processor pays straight into your bank account. At Betano you’ll need a previous Interac deposit and a bank account verified through online banking or a statement. Caps and speed are in our Interac limits guide.

How to deposit by Interac Request Money on your phone

Seven steps of an Interac Request Money casino deposit on a phone: open the cashier, choose Interac e-Transfer, confirm email and phone, open the request, sign in to your bank, check recipient and amount then send, and see the balance at the casino (Betano up to 5 minutes, 888casino up to 10); requests expire after 48 hours
Based on Betano’s and BET99’s Ontario help pages and Gigadat’s published steps, October 2026.
  1. Open the cashier. At Betano it’s My Account, Transactions, Deposit. At BET99, tap Deposit at the top right, then Wallet, Deposit.
  2. Choose Interac e-Transfer. At Betano, pick “Request Money (Interac e-Transfer)”, enter the amount and tap Deposit.
  3. Confirm your email and phone. Gigadat’s flow asks for both.
  4. Open the request. An email or text tells you the processor sent you a request for money, with links to choose your bank or decline. (BET99 skips this step: you pick your bank in the cashier and go straight to its sign-in page.)
  5. Sign in to your bank and choose the account to pay from.
  6. Check the request before you pay. Confirm the recipient, amount and date. At BET99 the recipient shows as Paybilt Inc., which is expected. Then tap Send Money or your bank’s equivalent.
  7. Head back to the casino. Betano says the money shows up within 5 minutes; 888casino says up to 10.

Pay the request promptly. Gigadat says a Request Money deposit expires if it isn’t paid within 48 hours of being started.

If the cashier shows an email and an ID instead

Some cashiers flip it around and ask you to send the e-Transfer yourself. In your banking app, add the recipient email shown, send the exact amount and paste the tracking ID into the message field. If your bank insists on a security question, Gigadat says the answer has to match the one the cashier gives you exactly. The question itself can be anything.

Worked example: a first deposit of $50

Say you’ve just opened a Betano account and want to put in $50 from your phone:

  • $50 is well inside Betano’s Interac e-Transfer range of $10 to $3,000. Your bank’s own sending limit also applies (the Interac limits guide above covers those).
  • You pick Request Money, enter $50 and tap Deposit. When the text arrives, you tap it, choose your bank, sign in and pay from your chequing account.
  • The account is in your name, and that matters: Betano only accepts an Interac deposit if the name matches your Betano account.
  • Betano charges no deposit fee, so $50 lands as $50, usually within 5 minutes. Whether your bank charges for sending an e-Transfer depends on your account plan.

This deposit also helps later: Betano says an e-Transfer withdrawal needs a previous Request Money deposit, so this one also sets up your payout route.

How to withdraw by Interac e-Transfer

Ontario casinos pay back to the method you deposited with. BET99, for example, says a withdrawal method only appears after a successful deposit with it. Before your first payout, get your account verification done. It’s the most common reason a withdrawal stalls.

  1. Open the cashier and choose Withdraw. At BET99 that’s Wallet, then the Withdraw tab.
  2. Pick Interac e-Transfer. At Betano the email is filled in from your last Request Money deposit and can’t be edited.
  3. Enter the amount and submit. The money is held from play while it’s reviewed.
  4. Wait for approval. Sports Interaction and BetMGM say you’ll get an email and a text with instructions once it’s approved. If it’s taking longer than expected, see why a withdrawal stays pending.
  5. Receive it. With Autodeposit, the money just posts to your linked account. Without it, you open the Interac notice, answer the security question and pick an account.

How fast each operator says it pays is in our guide to instant withdrawal casinos in Ontario.

Autodeposit vs security question

Autodeposit is the setting that makes the most difference to payouts. Interac says a recipient registered for Autodeposit gets the money automatically, no security question. Without it, you tap the link in the email or text, sign in to your bank and answer the question the sender set up. bet365, for example, emails that answer to the Interac address you deposited from.

Autodeposit on Security question
What you do Nothing; you get a notice Open the notice, sign in, enter the answer
Where the answer comes from No answer needed The casino or processor sends it. Gigadat sends it by email and by SMS from short code 387263 only
What can go wrong Money goes to whichever account the email or phone is linked to Gigadat cancels the transfer after three wrong answers and returns the money to the casino

Setting it up takes a few minutes. Interac’s steps: sign in to online banking, open the Interac e-Transfer settings, find Autodeposit, enter your email and/or mobile number and the account to link, then confirm the registration message you’re sent. Sports Interaction’s Interac page links setup guides for RBC, TD, CIBC, Scotiabank, HSBC, Simplii, Affinity Credit Union and ATB.

Register the same email you use at the casino, because the payout lands in whichever account that email is linked to.

Worked example: a $600 withdrawal with Autodeposit

Say your bet365 account is verified, you deposited by Interac, and on a Tuesday evening you ask for $600. Your bank has Autodeposit set up for the same email you use at bet365.

  • $600 is inside bet365’s Interac withdrawal range of $10 to $25,000.
  • bet365 lists Interac withdrawals at 1 to 4 hours. Once it’s processed, the money goes straight into your linked account with nothing to enter.
  • Without Autodeposit, the same $600 would sit in your inbox waiting for a security answer, and some processors, such as Gigadat, cancel after three wrong tries.

Names you may see in your banking app

Money often moves through a payment processor, so the name in your banking app may not be the casino’s.

  • Paybilt Inc. BET99’s deposit guide says your bank shows a payment request with Paybilt Inc. as the recipient.
  • Gigadat. 888casino’s withdrawal timetable names Gigadat for Interac payouts, and BetMGM’s Interac page links to Gigadat’s e-Transfer status search. Gigadat’s own steps say the request reads “Gigadat sent you a request for money”.

If you can’t match a request to a deposit you started yourself, don’t pay it. Interac advises confirming unexpected transfers through another channel, and our account security guide covers the other scams worth watching for.

Which Ontario casinos accept Interac in and out

The table shows where the main operators stand, from each one’s Ontario help or payment pages, checked October 22, 2026. Limits and times are in the guides linked above.

Casino Interac deposit Interac withdrawal Casino fee
888casino Yes, credited within 10 minutes Yes, e-Transfer via Gigadat None published; bank or processor may charge
bet365 “Continue to Interac” or manual e-Transfer Yes None on deposits; none mentioned on payouts
BET99 Yes, via your bank’s sign-in (Paybilt) To a method you deposited with None either way
Betano Request Money and “Interac” e-Transfer and eCashout None either way
BetMGM Yes, e-Transfer with a tracking ID Yes, after internal review None either way
Jackpot City Listed as “Interac Online” Listed No internal fees; providers may charge
Spin Casino Yes Yes, called its quickest payout Not stated
NorthStar Bets Yes; $20 site minimum Yes, Interac e-Transfer None either way
Sports Interaction Yes, e-Transfer with a tracking ID Yes None either way

Fees: casino, processor and bank

BET99, Betano, BetMGM, NorthStar and Sports Interaction say they charge nothing for Interac, and bet365 lists no fees on Interac deposits. Jackpot City charges no internal fees, and 888casino says your bank or processor may charge one.

Unexpected fees usually come from your bank. iGaming Ontario says every financial institution has its own rules for iGaming transactions and tells players to ask their bank directly. Interac adds that cancelling an e-Transfer can come with a bank fee too.

Common problems and fixes

  • Your bank blocks gambling payments. BET99 says some banks restrict payments to gaming sites. Call your bank, or switch methods; our e-wallets guide covers the main alternatives.
  • The request expired. Gigadat gives a Request Money 48 hours. Start a fresh deposit instead of paying an old request.
  • You paid, but nothing showed up. Gigadat says some banks hold a Request Money even after you accept it, so ask your bank to release it. NorthStar asks for the CA reference number from the Interac confirmation email after 24 hours. You’ll find it in desktop online banking, not the app.
  • Wrong email or phone. Gigadat says an undeliverable payout is cancelled and sent back to the casino. Contact the casino right away to cancel and request it again.
  • Name mismatch. Betano rejects an Interac deposit if the name on it doesn’t match your account, including some joint-account cases. Use an account in your own name.
  • Limit reached. A bigger deposit that fails is usually hitting a bank or casino cap. The Interac limits guide above lists them.

If you used Instadebit before, that service has ended, and Interac is the usual replacement. For every other method, see Ontario casino deposits and withdrawals, or compare operators in our casino reviews.

Interac deposits are quick enough that it’s easy to make one more than you planned. A deposit limit set in your casino account before you start takes that off the table, and ConnexOntario (1-866-531-2600) is there if you want confidential support.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Interac at Ontario online casinos?

Yes. 888casino, bet365, BET99, Betano, BetMGM, Jackpot City, Spin Casino, NorthStar Bets and Sports Interaction all list Interac on their Ontario payment pages. Most take deposits by Interac e-Transfer and pay out by e-Transfer to the email you deposited from.

Do Ontario casinos charge fees for Interac?

Most say they don't. BET99, Betano, BetMGM, NorthStar and Sports Interaction state no fees for Interac deposits or withdrawals, and bet365 lists no deposit fees. Your bank may still charge, depending on your account plan.

Is Interac Online still available?

It appears to be on its way out. Kindred Credit Union, an Ontario credit union, says Interac is terminating it and stopped supporting it on May 28, 2024. Some casino cashiers still use the label, so check whether the screen sends you to your bank to sign in or sends you an e-Transfer request.

How do I get casino winnings by Interac without a security question?

Register for Interac Autodeposit in your banking app and link the same email or phone you use at the casino to your account. Payouts then post automatically. Without it, you accept the e-Transfer by entering the security answer the casino or processor sends.
