Fanatics Casino Launches in Ontario, Sportsbook Planned for 2027

Fanatics Casino went live in Ontario on 1 September 2026, three weeks after the AGCO approved the operator. The launch is casino-only; Fanatics says its sportsbook will follow in 2027.

Fanatics Casino Launches in Ontario, Sportsbook Planned for 2027

Fanatics Betting & Gaming launched its online casino in Ontario on 1 September 2026, making the province the U.S. company’s first international market. Fanatics Casino went live without a public announcement, three weeks after the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) approved the operator on 11 August, Canadian Gaming Business reported.

iGaming Ontario’s list of regulated sites, dated 1 September 2026, shows Fanatics Casino under FBG Enterprises Canada, Inc., with casino as its only product. The operator’s Ontario site, fanaticscasino.ca, states that players must be 19 or older and physically present in Ontario.

Casino first, sportsbook in 2027

The order of the launch is unusual for a brand best known in betting for its sportsbook. In the United States, Fanatics Sportsbook is live in 24 jurisdictions, while Fanatics Casino operates in four states: Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, according to Canadian Gaming Business.

Conor Grant, president of gaming at Fanatics Betting & Gaming, said the Ontario decision followed the shape of the market. “The market is predominantly casino, it’s very heavily skewed in that region,” he told Canadian Gaming Business, adding that the company would “absolutely follow [in Ontario] in 2027 with our sportsbook proposition.” Until then, an Ontario Fanatics account gives access to casino games only.

The launch catalogue was described as hundreds of games across slots, table games and live dealer, with suppliers including Evolution, IGT and Playtech. Fanatics has also said Alberta, whose regulated market opened in July, is on its list for 2027; its Ontario site already tells visitors that Alberta is “coming soon.”

A late entrant in a crowded market

Fanatics arrives four and a half years after Ontario opened its private market on 4 April 2022, and into a field that has been changing in both directions this year. DAZN Bet launched on 30 June and Hard Rock Bet on 22 July, while Rivalry suspended Ontario play in February and Casumo left on 30 April. iGaming Ontario’s current listing counts 49 operators running 84 gaming websites. Grant acknowledged that it will take time for the brand to reach the position it wants, but set out the ambition plainly: “We don’t come to play eighth or ninth in the market.”

What it means for players in Ontario

Anyone opening an account should do so through the Ontario site and can confirm its status on iGaming Ontario’s list or with the Ontario casino checker; the guide to checking whether a casino is regulated explains what to look for. A Fanatics account from a U.S. state is a separate product, and players should not assume that U.S. games, features or payment options carry over to the Ontario site.

Ontario’s advertising rules do not allow operators to publicise bonuses or other inducements to the general public, so launch marketing in the province looks different from U.S. campaigns. People already enrolled in BetGuard, the province’s centralized self-exclusion system, are excluded from every site in the regulated market, which means they cannot open a Fanatics Casino account either.
