BetNova launched in Ontario’s regulated online gambling market on 9 April 2026, offering an online casino and sportsbook. The brand is run by Goldrush Canada Limited, a subsidiary of Goldrush Gaming Group, a South African company that operates bingo halls and slot routes at home as well as the online sportsbook Gbets.
iGaming Ontario’s operator directory, dated 1 September 2026, lists BetNova under Goldrush Canada Limited for casino and sports betting. According to iGaming Ontario figures cited by Canadian Gaming Business, the launch brought the market to 48 operators running 82 gaming websites.
A long road to launch
BetNova took more than 18 months to reach Ontario players. Goldrush announced in September 2024 that it would enter the province with Delasport, a platform supplier providing a turnkey product and managed services. The AGCO approved Goldrush Canada in August 2025, and the site went live eight months later.
Delasport also runs the platforms behind two other Ontario brands, TitanPlay and Maverick Games, Canadian Gaming Business reported. BetNova’s casino offers slots, table games and live dealer games, with suppliers including Bragg Gaming Group, Evolution, Hacksaw Gaming, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play and Relax Gaming. Its sportsbook leans heavily on soccer, with more limited coverage of North American leagues, and also offers esports betting.
Arriving as others left
The launch came during an unusually busy spell of comings and goings. Rivalry had suspended Ontario play in February, and Casumo was already winding down its Ontario business when BetNova went live; it ended play on 30 April. Hard Rock Bet, DAZN Bet and Fanatics Casino all followed later in the year, and iGaming Ontario’s current listing counts 49 operators and 84 gaming websites. An iGaming Ontario spokesperson told Canadian Gaming Business at the time of BetNova’s launch that more than 50 operators had joined the market since it opened, and that a small number had left.
BetNova is a different kind of entrant from those large U.S. and media-backed brands. It is a smaller international operator using a third-party platform, entering a market that opened on 4 April 2022 and where several established brands have already left.
What it means for players in Ontario
For sports bettors, the soccer focus is the main practical point: anyone who mainly bets on hockey, basketball or football should check the markets on offer before opening an account. For casino players, the supplier list covers several studios that are widely available in Ontario, so the lobby is likely to overlap with other regulated sites.
The legal entity that matters for any dispute is Goldrush Canada Limited, the name shown in iGaming Ontario’s directory. Complaints go to the operator first and can then be escalated, as set out in Ontario casino complaints. BetNova’s regulated status can be checked on iGaming Ontario’s list or with the Ontario casino checker, and people enrolled in BetGuard are excluded from every regulated site, new entrants included.
